A little more about the chili cook-off.  In conjunction with the cook-off, there was a little spirit competition.  No surprise that 1st Grade and Kindergarten took top honors.  Our sweet friend, Mrs. Bryan, got her picture snapped by the paparazzi!

In honor of Kindergarten taking the spirit award, this morning I’m sharing a set of subitizing cards I made for them.  I can’t take credit for designing these–I just enlarged the figures from the John Van de Walle website.  Click on the dots below to grab yours.  For more on subitizing, check out the topic links to the right of this post.

I love your site! I teach kindergarten now and though my educational course started very differently (orchestra teacher) I LOVE early childhood math and have to stop myself from spending all my free time searching for all things K math related!! I started the year with your subitizing cards and my little ones love it and are so good at it. It has been amazing to see how their number sense is developing after such a great start. Thank you!!
