About a week ago, I blogged about a tic tac toe game for multiples. Naturally, within literally minutes of the blog post, people were asking for an addition version! So I’m pleased to present the addend version.

A couple of things to note. First, the small numbers within the tic tac toe board are not in order like they are on the multiples version. If they were, the kids wouldn’t really need to think about the addition much, because each number would just be one more than the one before it. Make sense? Second, this game really works best with a ten-sided die, because it has all the digits from 0-9. Have the students play with the 0 being a 10 and you have all the addends from 1-10.

Thank you for making both versions available to us. I love how the kids can select the box they want to solve for. That means that every student has an entry point.
