Description
Do your students hold preconceived notions about mathematicians? It’s hugely important that our students see themselves as mathematicians! Based on The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown, you can use this activity after a discussion about famous mathematicians or after introducing the Standards for Mathematical Practice (CCSS) or Process Standards (TEKS, NCTM) to help create the climate for learning in your classroom and let your students see themselves as mathematicians!
Both primary (lined for writing) and intermediate versions of two different formats. Also a page with just a self-portrait. Includes a digital version for use with Google Slides.
